1. What makes Summit Japan iron cookware special?

Summit cookware is crafted in Japan using high-quality pure iron and traditional forging techniques. It offers excellent heat conduction, long-lasting durability, and a natural nonstick patina that improves over time.

2. What should I do before using my Summit iron wok for the first time?

Step 1 — Wash & Scrub: Wash with warm water and mild detergent. Scrub thoroughly with a

green sponge to remove the silicone coating.

Step 2 — Heat & Oil: Heat until the wok lightly smokes. Turn off heat and apply a thin, even oil

layer.

Step 3 — Tips: Use more oil at first and avoid high heat until patina forms.

3. Will it rust?

Yes. Iron rusts naturally. Scrub rust off, rinse, dry, heat to remove moisture, and apply oil before storing.

4. Will food burn or stick?

Yes, if oil has not absorbed properly or heat is too strong. Use more oil at the beginning and reduce heat after preheating.

5. Do I need to oil it after use before storing?

Recommended. If used frequently, a light leftover oil layer is enough. For long-term storage, apply a thin oil layer.

6. If it rusts, can it be repaired?

Yes. Scrub with steel wool or cleanser, rinse, dry, heat, and oil.

7. How do I clean the wok after cooking?

Rinse with warm water, use a sponge, dry immediately, heat briefly, and oil lightly before storing.

8. Can I use detergent?

Mild detergent is fine occasionally. Avoid strong degreasers or dishwashers.

9. What stovetops are compatible?

Gas, electric, induction (flat-base), ceramic, and halogen.

10. Can I cook acidic food?

Yes, briefly. Do not simmer long or leave acidic food inside. Rinse and dry immediately.

11. How to maintain nonstick performance?

Preheat properly, reduce heat once warm, use enough oil early, and allow patina to develop naturally.

12. Why is my wok turning darker?

This is normal patina formation—improves nonstick and prevents rust.
